Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible to use out of Network Benefits to help pay for a portion of your therapeutic services.
To see if your insurance plan included Out-Of-Network benefits, please scroll down on this page to utilize the benefits calculator.
How to Use your Out-Of-Network Benefits
Using your out-of-network benefits is generally quite simple. To further ease the process, I've collaborated with a company called Mentaya, which will handle your claims submissions to your insurance provider at a fee of $10.00 per claim (if you would like me to include this fee onto your appointments, let me know and I am happy to manage this for you.)
If you prefer to manage the submissions yourself, most insurers allow you to upload your monthly superbill online (which you will receive from me on the 1st of every month), and they will then send you a reimbursement check by mail.
For your comfort, it can be helpful to contact the number on the back of your health insurance card under Member Services for any questions you may have.
You can ask them the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
How much of my deductible has been met this year?
Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
How much will I be reimbursed for a 45 minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834)?
How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

At this time, I am not accepting sliding scale clients. Please, feel free to visit my blog and utilize the growing library of resources there. You are SO capable, please don’t forget.
Note: I am open to working with clients for brief periods of time and find that we can get a LOT done within a 6 week time frame and then additional sessions as your budget allows.
-
At this time, I am only licensed to provide virtual therapy services with clients living in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Texas.
Note: You must be physically present in one of these states during our sessions.
-
While availability can shift depending on my current caseload, I offer session times between 12 PM - 7 PM on Monday - Thursday.
-
Our first therapy session will be up to 90 minutes in length, as it’s important to take my time getting to know why you’re seeing therapy treatment at this time. What I tell clients about this first session is to show up as relaxed as possible and to do their best to trust that I will gently and thoughtfully guide them through our intake discussion. I love intake sessions, I feel like a very kind interviewer during them!

Finding a good therapist for you can be complicated and sometimes who we vibe with and who we don’t feels like it makes zero logical sense. Going to a therapist who isn’t a right fit for you can be like trying to buy milk at Home Depot - it’s just not there for you! You and I will discern fit together and, please know, that if I am not a fit for you my feelings will not be hurt. I want you to get your milk at the most beautiful grocery store, ever! Also, I would love to see if I can assist you with finding a better fit, whenever possible. It’s in my professional Code of Ethics and I LOVE helping people find their fit.
Please know, I will be listening closely to you during our free 20 minute consult call and during our first sessions to ensure that we are a good fit for you at this time. I genuinely only want your highest good.
-
Okay, get ready for an annoying therapist answer - “it depends.” To establish a therapeutic relationship and to ensure we are a good fit, I require new clients to meet weekly for the first 6 weeks of our time together. Following this 6 week period, we will discern together how often you would like to meet and what frequency of sessions your specific treatment needs require.
-
Again, it depends on your needs and your intuitive choices. Sometimes, I have clients who come in knowing they can be “all in” for a certain amount of months or a certain amount of sessions. Sometimes, I have clients who come in not quite knowing how long they want to stay but are open to seeing how it goes and discerning along the way. You and I will be in constant communication about the path of your treatment, including the length.
Note: In trauma reprocessing work, there is a more definitive beginning and ending point. Our discussion about treatment length will look different depending on if we are doing trauma work together as well.
-
Yes! I REALLY enjoy working with other professionals and am happy to talk with other members on your team when possible. However, most of our work together will be helping you communicate with your own team and community.
-
Because of HIPPA regulations, I do not provide text message support between sessions and only provide phone support for rare, emergency situations.
-
Not at all! Much of our time together will be spent addressing the underlying traumas, stressors, interpersonal relationship dynamics etc. which are increasing the intensity of your symptoms. Also, there’s A LOT going on in your life, let alone the world, and I deeply value your personal choice and intuition. If you show up not feeling like doing trauma work and instead need to talk about a frustrating interaction with your Aunt - I’m in!
